I found a good new blog. Here it is, and tell your friends:

I already love Real Simple, and have subscribed to it for years. And now......I found the blog of a former (I think) home editor for the magazine. It's like the inside scoop. The real deal. Check it out. It's all about gifts - home - products - finds.

caramel in carmel
Yep, here at Oliver's Twist. So much for those last five pounds. Today we got a huge shipment from Abdalah Chocolates and Hammonds Candies. Our selection includes chocolate, vanilla, and pecan caramels, cashew grizzlies (turtles), toffee bars, and my favorite, chocolate covered caramels.
For the holidays, we got these BIG vintage candy canes in 6 different flavors including cranberry, wintergreen, peppermint, strawberry, etc. We also got "Coal Candy" for stocking stuffers, which is black cinnamon candies packaged in the cutest little bag. I can think of a few people on my list to give that to....
meryn grace
We had the pleasure of doing baby announcements for sweet little Meryn Grace this week. This baby is the cutest little thing and is always decked out when she visits our store with her mom, Carlie. Carlie and Meryn must have a ton of friends because we did 150 announcements for them! We used a metallic pink gate fold with a circle tag and dark gray accents. On the tag was her monogram and around it read "Miracles do happen, Dreams do come true". I wish I could say I made that up, but I can't, Carlie brought it to me. Congratulations Carlie on your little bundle of joy!

accessorize.
Check out our new PSA display! Now you can get all of the peel and stick designs, centering blocks, and other accessories to enhance your stamp! The halloween and Christmas peel and stick collections have been the most popular so far. They also make a great gift or stocking stuffer for someone who already has a stamp!

Can I Take Your Order?
This week we have been in an ordering frenzy. Crane, Kate Spade, Rag & Bone, Cross, Holiday Cards, you name it, we've ordered it. Today we got thirty-some candles from Linneas Lights. We are so excited to now carry ALL of their scents. So now when you come in, find your favorite on the "scent tree" as some people call it, we are sure to have it! Linneas Lights Candles will also be in the October issue of In Style and Indianapolis Monthly. My new favorite scent has to be either Pumpkin or Black Vanilla (which is a little more masculine). Stop by and check them out!

Ellie's Wedding
This weekend was Ellie & Richard's wedding in Terre Haute. My favorite thing about the wedding (besides the couple and the invitations) was how they kept everything local. They had donuts from Square Donuts, pizza delivered from a local pizzeria, the most amazing ferns from Ellie's dad's store, The Apple House, and a bakery from around the corner from the reception.
Other cool things about the wedding weekend:
1. Color scheme: gray/vintage pink
2. Golf groom's cake
3. The flower girls were both named Lucy
4. The flower in Ellie's hair with her lace dress
5. The mothers both wore navy but didn't match too much
6. The first dance was to Van Morrison
7. And again, the enormous ferns.
Congrats to Ellie & Richard!
(I'll post pictures later)

mid year resolution
This will be the first of many more posts to come for 2009. I know its already almost September but I'm giving myself a short term goal to see if I can stick to my word. I meet many people each week who throw fabulous parties, have awesome ideas, or just make me laugh. This blog is for them (and the invitations I make for their events). Happy 2009!
